Ivo De Backer showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Perico Machado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Jordi Peten tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 15th minute, Steff Winnepenninck got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Genk's Ivo De Backer was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 17th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. 22 minutes into the match, Ivo De Backer had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Anko Bravo. Nubecitas FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ivo De Backer was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. Anko Bravo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ivo De Backer in the 25th minute. 26 minutes into the match, Nubecitas FC's goalkeeper Anko Bravo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Pierre-Alexandre Dewolf. The supporters of Nubecitas FC booed when Genk was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Michiel Ooms didn't get a good kick on the ball. Odilon Rivas hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Peio Guijarro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jordi Peten having to interfere. In the 33rd minute, Odilon Rivas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A hard shot 38 in the game by Ivo De Backer from a close distance when the talented Anko Bravo managed to make a qualified save. Nubecitas FC's players were relieved. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ivo De Backer made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Peio Guijarro in the 51st minute of play forced Genk's goalkeeper Jordi Peten to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Genk's Jordi Peten got control of the ball when Odilon Rivas tried to sneak it across the goal line. Anko Bravo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ivo De Backer in the 58th minute of play. Anko Bravo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joris Tijs in the 66th minute of the match. Odilon Rivas hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. In the 70th match minute, Genk was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gery Polspoel to maneuver through the defense. 75 minutes into the game, Joris Tijs cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-0. Anko Bravo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A collision led to Nubecitas FC getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Pablo Olmedo hit a great ball. Genk's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
