Jeremias Vale made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. If Luiz Fábio Hermes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jeremias Vale showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Thomas Papagiotopoulos in the 16th minute of the match. When Joélson Madureira fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Imbituba - FSCMZ's protests and gave Joélson Madureira a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of ΠΑΟΚ FC booed when Imbituba - FSCMZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joélson Madureira didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joélson Madureira in the 22nd minute of play forced ΠΑΟΚ FC's goalkeeper Ilias Peristeropoulos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 25 minutes into the match, Petros Giannakis notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Imbituba - FSCMZ's Jeremias Vale. Jeremias Vale was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The audience thought a goal was coming when Thomas Papagiotopoulos got free with Jeremias Vale in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 59th minute, Enéas Rodrigues hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Imbituba - FSCMZ's zone, Thomas Papagiotopoulos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jeremias Vale came out of the goal and Thomas Papagiotopoulos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Imbituba - FSCMZ getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Enéas Rodrigues hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Imbituba - FSCMZ's Enéas Rodrigues got a free kick in the 66th minute. With a little luck, Imbituba - FSCMZ's Jeremias Vale got control of the ball when Anestis Kapataidakis tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 70th minute, Luiz Fábio Hermes made a precise shot to the right of Ilias Peristeropoulos. ΠΑΟΚ FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-4. Jeremias Vale made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thrasivoulos Moisiadis in the 76th minute of play. In the 95th minute, Thomas Papagiotopoulos left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The ΠΑΟΚ FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-5. In the 98th minute Luiz Fábio Hermes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ilias Peristeropoulos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. ΠΑΟΚ FC played a much better game than Imbituba - FSCMZ and deserved their victory. The Imbituba - FSCMZ players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
