A very good chance. Gonçalo Baptista might have been able to make a better finish in the 8th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Iurie Mutu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gonçalo Baptista ran back to his position shaking his head. A collision led to Lupere FC - DMZ getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Nando Baptista hit a great ball. Flavinho Tavares hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. Sever Vintilescu struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Walmir Leme didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Academia Rio. Walmir Leme made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from János Oltean in the 19th minute of play. A collision led to Lupere FC - DMZ getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Durvalino Ortiz hit a great ball. If Cristóvão Alves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 28 played minutes Lupere FC - DMZ got a freekick which was hit by Gonçalo Baptista. In the 35th match minute, Academia Rio was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paul Cucu to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Academia Rio getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Sever Vintilescu hit a great ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Marian Ozon during the 45th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Lupere FC - DMZ booed when Academia Rio was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marian Ozon didn't get a good kick on the ball.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gonçalo Baptista made a kick off. After 55 played minutes Lupere FC - DMZ got a freekick which was hit by Flavinho Tavares. Walmir Leme made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from János Oltean in the 57th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sever Vintilescu in the 66th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Walmir Leme saved Lupere FC - DMZ from getting behind. Iurie Mutu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zé Augusto Mineiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. Zé Augusto Mineiro scored 0-3 in the 84th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Iurie Mutu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of Academia Rio booed when Lupere FC - DMZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nando Baptista didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Lupere FC - DMZ supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Lupere FC - DMZ would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
