Mikel Mancilla's late challenge caught a Sliema Dragons FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mikel Mancilla helped the player get up and apologised. Mikel Mancilla hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. Sliema Dragons FC's Mark Polidano shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 7th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Matias Soto but with some difficulty. In the 14th minute, Sliema Dragons FC's Frederick Gatt dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Matias Soto made a fantastic save in the 18th minute, when Patrick Buttigieg sent off a good shot on target. The audience thought a goal was coming when Patrick Buttigieg got free with Matias Soto in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Nick Abdilla was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 25 minutes into the match. Brandon Ellul showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Inocente Sol in the 27th minute of the match. If Patrick Buttigieg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 33rd minute, Jean Paul Caruana reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Matias Soto. The goal made the score 2-0. Patrick Buttigieg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Brandon Ellul took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Menéndez Sigorraga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Mikel Mancilla stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Jean Paul Caruana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 54th minute, Inocente Sol hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 56th match minute, Siwox Fc was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Salomone Moxo to maneuver through the defense. 60 minutes into the match, Sliema Dragons FC's goal looked a bit too open when Menéndez Sigorraga came free, but Brandon Ellul reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Matias Soto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Patrick Buttigieg in the 65th minute of play. Desiderio Hetz hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Samuel Galdes in the 68th minute of play forced Siwox Fc's goalkeeper Matias Soto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jean Paul Caruana sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 87th minute Jean Paul Caruana shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Matias Soto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 89th match minute, Siwox Fc was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Desiderio Hetz to maneuver through the defense. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Sliema Dragons FC had won after a very even match.
