ACF Fiorentina's Marcelino Sedeni got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a little luck, ACF Fiorentina's Arnulfo Suero got control of the ball when Stefanos Xomeritakis tried to sneak it across the goal line. Horacio Eutor sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Odysseas Michelakis during the 39th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 39 played minutes tHe SOnS of rAGnar got a freekick which was hit by Odysseas Michelakis. Stefanos Xomeritakis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Stefanos Xomeritakis to make the kick off.
