Itajaí Football Club's Flávio Batista played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlinhos Sergipano in the 6th minute of play. A collision led to Itajaí Football Club getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Túlio Jacinto hit a great ball. Flávio Batista made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlinhos Sergipano in the 9th minute of play. Nilson de Amorim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anselmo Madureira in the 10th minute of the match. Carlinhos Sergipano scored 0-2 in the 14th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Flávio Batista, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Thanks to some nice moves Anselmo Madureira could shoot a difficult shot in the 23rd minute, which Nilson de Amorim however easily saved by the left post. In the 28th minute, Carlinhos Sergipano left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The B-S-L fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. B-S-L's defense didn't have a chance, in the 31st minute, when Sílvio Luís do Nascimento scored to the left of an out of position Nilson de Amorim, making the score, 1-3. Itajaí Football Club's Anselmo Madureira got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 37 played minutes B-S-L got a freekick which was hit by Cido Goiano. Nilson de Amorim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benê Lima in the 40th minute of the match. Nilson de Amorim showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sílvio Luís do Nascimento, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. João Adolfo Fontes kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. Benê Limas short, quick shot in the 48thth minute got Nilson de Amorim to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

In the 52nd match minute, B-S-L was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcos Nóbrega to maneuver through the defense. 55 minutes into the game, Itajaí Football Club's Túlio Jacinto nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nilson de Amorim made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-3. Flávio Batista was a little too slow when João Adolfo Fontes got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 61st minute. The score was now 2-4. A collision led to B-S-L getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Dorival Dracena hit a great ball. Nilson de Amorim took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sílvio Luís do Nascimento, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Guga Ferraz kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. Itajaí Football Club's Wiliam Quintal couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 70th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for B-S-L. After a defensive mix-up in B-S-L's zone, Benê Lima stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nilson de Amorim came out of the goal and Benê Lima tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 77th minute, Sílvio Luís do Nascimento left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Itajaí Football Club fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-4. An unexpectedly hard shot by William Arósio in the 82nd minute of play forced B-S-L's goalkeeper Nilson de Amorim to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 86 played minutes Itajaí Football Club got a freekick which was hit by José Vítor Passos. Nilson de Amorim took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Benê Lima, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. B-S-L were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Itajaí Football Club's much stronger midfield.
