Emil Bennet was shown his second yellow card after 25 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Per-Arne Lång struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Fernando Cefero didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for spikarna. The supporters of Chacarita Jrs booed when spikarna was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Aldo Ekain in the 41st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Emil Stål prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Patrik Berggren kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Per-Arne Lång in the 48th minute of play forced Chacarita Jrs's goalkeeper Fernando Cefero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Per-Arne Lång to make the kick off. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tadeo Txartiko made in the 74th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by spikarna's Patrik Berggren. In the 74th minute Per-Arne Lång shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fernando Cefero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fernando Cefero made an important save on a dangerous shot by Per-Arne Lång in the 76th minute. Per-Arne Lång could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 79th minute of the match, but Fernando Cefero made a huge save.
