Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling William Arósio in the 17th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fernando Cefero prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 18 played minutes Chacarita Jrs got a freekick which was hit by Aldo Ekain. In the 19th minute, Anselmo Madureira ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Fernando Cefero was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. When Itajaí Football Club's Anselmo Madureira in the 24th minute got a chance for a shot 24th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Benê Lima sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Itajaí Football Club booed when Chacarita Jrs was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 49 match minutes in a wonderful position. Angelo Ciano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Chacarita Jrs's Fernando Cefero proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 77th minute of the match, managed to save Chacarita Jrs from getting a goal against them. Fernando Cefero stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Anselmo Madureira's shot from short distance in the 88th minute. Túlio Jacinto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Fernando Cefero tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
