The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Olaf Lübke showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Otto Björck, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. Rune Jansson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mirco Maier in the 13th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wictor Walroth in the 15th minute of play forced SC Otten's goalkeeper Olaf Lübke to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of BK Gubbhöft booed when SC Otten was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hellmuth Mönch didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rune Jansson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kartikeya von Gyldenfeldt in the 32nd minute of play. In the 34th match minute, SC Otten was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Reinhold Friedl to maneuver through the defense. In the 43rd minute, Kartikeya von Gyldenfeldt ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Rune Jansson was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mirco Maier in the 46th minute of play forced BK Gubbhöft's goalkeeper Rune Jansson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Otto Björck to make the kick off. Mirco Maier hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. 56 minutes into the game, Hansjörg Görlitz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SC Otten's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave BK Gubbhöft the free kick. The supporters of BK Gubbhöft booed when SC Otten was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hansjörg Görlitz didn't get a good kick on the ball. SC Otten made a substitution. Frederik Vielmann replaced Mirco Maier. André Svanér kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Ronnie Schilder could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 65th minute of the match, but Rune Jansson made a huge save. The audience was convinced that Otto Björck's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Olaf Lübke was relentless in the 71st minute of the game. In the 78th minute Heinrich Langer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rune Jansson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. SC Otten's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
