The referee ignored Mochila FC's protests and gave Diego Proença a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Mochila FC getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Diego Proença hit a great ball. In the 8thth minute of the game Mark Borg Xuereb who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mochila FC's Dorian Porto was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Mark Borg Xuereb came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Templars FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mark Borg Xuereb couldn't finish the play. Raymond Callus made in the 22nd minute of the game a quick throw-in and Liam Rolè immediately put the ball in play. Gernando Nunes's late challenge caught a Templars FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gernando Nunes helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Templars FC booed when Mochila FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gernando Nunes didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 27 played minutes Mochila FC got a freekick which was hit by Gilson Sergipano. The audience was convinced that Mark Borg Xuereb's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dorian Porto was relentless in the 30th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mark Borg Xuereb in the 33rd minute of play forced Mochila FC's goalkeeper Dorian Porto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 35 minutes into the match, Peter Degiorgio notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Mochila FC's Dorian Porto. Dorian Porto was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Dorian Porto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mark Borg Xuereb, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. In the 41st match minute, Mochila FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gilson Sergipano to maneuver through the defense. After 43 played minutes Mochila FC got a freekick which was hit by Gilson Sergipano. Gernando Nunes might have been able to make a better finish in the 45th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dylan Pizzuto. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gernando Nunes ran back to his position shaking his head. Mochila FC's Dorian Porto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mark Borg Xuereb in the 47th minute of play.

Dorian Porto came out of the goal in the 52nd minute to try and stop a shot by Templars FC's Mark Borg Xuereb. But to his dismay, Mark Borg Xuereb quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. In the 56th minute, Nilton da Rocha hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 58 minutes into the match, Templars FC's Mark Borg Xuereb sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dorian Porto narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Dylan Pizzuto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gilson Sergipano in the 69th minute of the match. After 71 played minutes Mochila FC got a freekick which was hit by Diego Proença. After a defensive mix-up in Mochila FC's zone, Mark Borg Xuereb stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dorian Porto came out of the goal and Mark Borg Xuereb tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 76 minutes, Mark Borg Xuereb managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Templars FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mark Borg Xuereb was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. It seemed to be an obvious goal in the 82nd minute, but Dorian Porto got his fingers on the ball or the save, leaving Mochila FC hanging dry this time. In the 84th minute Templars FC were awarded a corner. Mark Cuschieri went to the cornerflag to take it. Dylan Pizzuto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gilson Sergipano in the 85th minute of play. Dorian Porto was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Mark Borg Xuereb showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-4 in the 86 minute of play. After 89 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Mochila FC! The goalkeeper, Dorian Porto, was totally fooled by Templars FC's Mark Cuschieri, who 91 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Gernando Nunes got his second yellow card in the match during the 95th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Gernando Nunes hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. With splendid footwork Mark Borg Xuereb arrived in front of goal to shoot 0-6 by the left pole in the game's 98th minute. Templars FC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
