After a rather tough play, Protegéerna's Oscar Löfgren got a free kick in the 10th minute. Irinel Itoafă was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 11th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. A sloppy throw-in by Maxim Dragalina in the 13th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Protegéerna's Agne Hedström. Georg Vallin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dorel Codin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Stiinta-Univ. defense, Bo-Erik Springfält kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Edgar Coposu. The Stiinta-Univ. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Edgar Coposu should have stopped the shot. Protegéerna's Georg Vallin proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to save Protegéerna from getting a goal against them. After having played for 44 minutes, Ovidiu Borza managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Stiinta-Univ.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Ovidiu Borza was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Georg Vallin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aristide Pupăzan, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dorel Codin to make the kick off. In the 53rd play minute Roy Bennet came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Edgar Coposu. 0-3. Edgar Coposu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roy Bennet, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Protegéerna's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Olof Löfkvist in the 66th minute. A nice corner shot did that Bo-Erik Springfält got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Edgar Coposu quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 69th minute, Stiinta-Univ.'s goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Roy Bennet fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After some careless play in the Protegéerna defense, Ovidiu Borza kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Georg Vallin. The Protegéerna fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Georg Vallin should have stopped the shot. Protegéerna made a substitution. Sven Skark replaced Roy Bennet. When Sven Skark came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Protegéerna fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sven Skark couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sven Skark in the 93rd minute of play forced Stiinta-Univ.'s goalkeeper Edgar Coposu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Oscar Löfgren charged in rather forcefully in the 94th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Oscar Löfgren the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Oscar Löfgren hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Protegéerna eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
