The Stiinta-Univ. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Horaţiu Macamete should have stopped the shot. The crowd rose to their feet as Stiinta-Univ.'s Aristide Pupăzan slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Nunez Fernandez. That made the score 1-1 after 19 minutes of play. 22 minutes into the match, Aristide Pupăzan had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Nunez Fernandez. C.F.Fuenlabrada's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Aristide Pupăzan was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. After a rather tough play, Stiinta-Univ.'s Horaţiu Corduneanu got a free kick in the 24th minute. Adolfo Cristos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nunez Fernandez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aristide Pupăzan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nunez Fernandez made a fantastic save in the 34th minute, when Ovidiu Borza sent off a good shot on target. 4-1 became the score in the 36th minute when Edgar Coposu elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Nunez Fernandez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edgar Coposu in the 44th minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 5-1.

Adrian Francis kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. Nunez Fernandez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aristide Pupăzan in the 62nd minute of the match. In the 65th match minute, C.F.Fuenlabrada was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Venancio Abancens to maneuver through the defense.
