In the 14th minute of the match, Ronaldo Novaes tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but George Agachi saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. RWD Molenbeek's Almir Diniz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jo Bag in the 16th minute of play. George Agachi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ronaldo Novaes in the 18th minute of the match. 21 minutes into the match, Galati Harbour Cats's goalkeeper George Agachi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Francisco Perez. 22 minutes into the game, Fabinho Simão cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. George Agachi was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The audience was convinced that Jo Bag's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Almir Diniz was relentless in the 25th minute of the game. RWD Molenbeek's Almir Diniz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vali Ghețea in the 32nd minute of play. Adrian Baldazar hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. 36 minutes into the game, Galati Harbour Cats's Corneliu Hurmuzescu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Almir Diniz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. After having played for 39 minutes, Ronaldo Novaes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Galati Harbour Cats's George Agachi proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 45th minute of the match, managed to save Galati Harbour Cats from getting a goal against them. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

George Agachi came out of the goal in the 54th minute to try and stop a shot by RWD Molenbeek's Fabinho Simão. But to his dismay, Fabinho Simão quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Fabinho Simão scored 3-1 in the 57th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of George Agachi, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Galati Harbour Cats's zone, Fabinho Simão stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. George Agachi came out of the goal and Fabinho Simão tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Francisco Perez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Galati Harbour Cats defense, Fabinho Simão kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of George Agachi. The Galati Harbour Cats fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that George Agachi should have stopped the shot. Vali Ghețea struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Almir Diniz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Galati Harbour Cats. George Agachi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Francisco Perez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. George Agachi was left in no man's land by his defense there! It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. RWD Molenbeek had played much better football throughout.
