The long shot by Octaaf Van Adorp in the 13th minute really tested Teodosio Cerda's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Teodosio Pimentel during the 16th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 23rd minute, Club Deportes Santa Cruz's Sebastián Garfias seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Sebastián Garfias the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Club Deportes Santa Cruz protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Sebastián Garfias had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. When Clemencín Varas came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Club Deportes Santa Cruz fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Clemencín Varas couldn't finish the play. Clemencín Varas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Geordy De Leger having to interfere. The supporters of Vc Brye booed when Club Deportes Santa Cruz was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. José Antonio Porras didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Vc Brye's zone, Clemencín Varas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Geordy De Leger came out of the goal and Clemencín Varas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Clemencín Varas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Geordy De Leger tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Kim Van Bockorst fell near the penalty area in the 77th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vc Brye's protests and gave Kim Van Bockorst a yellow card for diving instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in Vc Brye fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 76th minute. Penalty! Geordy De Leger had in the 79thth minute some difficulties stopping Raimundo Backhouse's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. In the 85th minute, Pierre-Olivier Theijs hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pierre-Olivier Theijs in the 90th minute of play forced Club Deportes Santa Cruz's goalkeeper Teodosio Cerda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Teodosio Cerda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jean Theunis in the 92nd minute of the match. After 97 played minutes Clemencín Varas rounded Vc Brye's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-3. Club Deportes Santa Cruz played a much better game than Vc Brye and deserved their victory. The Vc Brye players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
