Gilberto Abraão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Clemente Barros in the 7th minute of play. When Thomás Massa fell near the penalty area in the 7th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Brazil Academy's protests and gave Thomás Massa a yellow card for diving instead. Thomás Massa kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. Virgílio Dantas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Teodosio Cerda tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Brazil Academy booed when Club Deportes Santa Cruz was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Inocencio Mosca didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Clemencín Varas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 20th match minute, Brazil Academy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valdo de Almeida to maneuver through the defense. In the 21st minute the ball was on its way in behind Brazil Academy's goalkeeper Gilberto Abraão, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 22 played minutes Club Deportes Santa Cruz got a freekick which was hit by Inocencio Mosca. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, César Torres managed to get in a good position for a shot. Brazil Academy's supporters rose to their feet, but César Torres was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Teodosio Cerda breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 32nd minute, Sebastián Garfias hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Armando Meira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Teodosio Cerda having to interfere. After 34 played minutes Club Deportes Santa Cruz got a freekick which was hit by Sebastián Garfias. Gilberto Abraão took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Clemente Barros, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thomás Massa hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Clemencín Varas in the 39th minute of play forced Brazil Academy's goalkeeper Gilberto Abraão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thomás Massa lost his temper 46 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After 46 played minutes Brazil Academy got a freekick which was hit by Thomás Massa. If Raimundo Backhouse had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Gilberto Abraão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Clemencín Varas in the 52nd minute of play. Armando Meira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 64 minutes into the match, Club Deportes Santa Cruz's goal looked a bit too open when César Torres came free, but Teodosio Cerda reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 65th minute Armando Meira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Teodosio Cerda saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Brazil Academy's Gilberto Abraão proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 71st minute of the match, managed to save Brazil Academy from getting a goal against them. In the 73rd minute, Clemencín Varas reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Gilberto Abraão. The goal made the score 1-1. After 77 minutes, Inocencio Mosca mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Club Deportes Santa Cruz and the Brazil Academy players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 77th minute, Inocencio Mosca hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. César Torres received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 96 minutes into the match, Brazil Academy's goalkeeper Gilberto Abraão had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Clemencín Varas. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
