But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Raimundo Backhouse couldn't finish the play. Vc Brye's Geordy De Leger played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Clemencín Varas in the 4th minute of play. Kim Van Bockorst's late challenge caught a Club Deportes Santa Cruz's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kim Van Bockorst helped the player get up and apologised. In a very dangerous position, a player in Vc Brye fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 10th minute. Penalty! Vc Brye:s Geordy De Leger showed great skill when he stopped Raimundo Backhouse:s penalty. In the 13thth minute of the game Charalambos Zardari who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Club Deportes Santa Cruz's Teodosio Cerda was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Clemencín Varas who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 14thth minute tested the skills of Geordy De Leger when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Cederique Wigers hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. Clemencín Varas struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Geordy De Leger didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Club Deportes Santa Cruz. Clemencín Varas who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 21stth minute tested the skills of Geordy De Leger when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Vc Brye's Geordy De Leger played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by José Antonio Porras in the 30th minute of play. If Cederique Wigers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Francisco Arens kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. For all the effort they put into the match, the Vc Brye players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Club Deportes Santa Cruz.
