After a defensive mix-up in Icoara Football Club's zone, Albertinho Leite stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Artur Branco to make the kick off. Icoara Football Club's Caetano Monteiro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 55th minute of the match, managed to save Icoara Football Club from getting a goal against them. Pedro Augusto Baiano's late challenge caught a Icoara Football Club's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
