Morro Grande E.C's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Maurício Linhares kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. Adhemar da Fonseca received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Clóvis Motta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. João Pedro dos Santos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cristian Duarte's shot from short distance in the 15th minute. In the 25th minute, Dinei Goiano left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Wambalamba FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Clóvis Motta didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Adhemar da Fonseca went, in the 32nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. Hélder Pernambucano hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. Dinei Goiano's long shot made the audience stand up and applaude when it rumbled by Clóvis Motta on his right side and into the goal. 37 minutes into the game it was 0-4. 40 minutes into the game, Luisinho Silva was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Morro Grande E.C's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Wambalamba FC the free kick. After a rather tough play, Morro Grande E.C's Luisinho Silva got a free kick in the 40th minute. Kauan Soares's late challenge caught a Morro Grande E.C's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kauan Soares helped the player get up and apologised. Kauan Soares hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. After 48 played minutes, Morro Grande E.C's Cristian Duarte shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper João Pedro dos Santos came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Morro Grande E.C reached it. After the first half Wambalamba FC were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Cristian Duarte made the kick off in the second half. Morro Grande E.C's Clóvis Motta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adhemar da Fonseca in the 62nd minute of play. In the 63rd minute, Luisinho Silva got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Dinei Goiano could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 72nd minute of the match, but Clóvis Motta made a huge save. Morro Grande E.C's Clóvis Motta proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 73rd minute of the match, managed to save Morro Grande E.C from getting a goal against them. In the 76th match minute, Morro Grande E.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Maurício Linhares to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Luisinho Silva managed to get in a good position for a shot. Morro Grande E.C's supporters rose to their feet, but Luisinho Silva was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. João Pedro dos Santos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 86 played minutes Morro Grande E.C got a freekick which was hit by Maurício Linhares. Wambalamba FC played a much better game than Morro Grande E.C and deserved their victory. The Morro Grande E.C players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
