The referee ignored Cactos's protests and gave Walmyr Loureiro a yellow card for diving instead. In the 4th match minute, Cactos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jorge Passos to maneuver through the defense. After 8 minutes, Osvaldo Negri mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cactos and the Plan B players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 10th match minute, Cactos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Osvaldo Negri to maneuver through the defense. In the 11th match minute, Cactos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Walmyr Loureiro to maneuver through the defense. In the 12th minute of the match Harry Gunnarsson sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Germano Bezerra skillfully saved the ball. Marco Carvalho kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. Michael Fors stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jorge Passos's shot from short distance in the 24th minute. When the match had gone on for 25 minutes, Lenílson Rodrigues took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Michael Fors to make any attempt to save it. A collision led to Cactos getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Osvaldo Negri hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Harry Gunnarsson in the 35th minute of play forced Cactos's goalkeeper Germano Bezerra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Michael Fors made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Lenílson Rodrigues sent off a good shot on target. In the 39th minute of the match Cactos got a corner. Plan B's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Lenílson Rodrigues ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Cactos's Lenílson Rodrigues to fire away a dangerous shot which Michael Fors despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Cactos's José Britto got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. José Britto scored 3-0 in the 47th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Michael Fors, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Bengt-Arne Larsson was the one to do the kick off. In the 55th match minute, Plan B was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emanuel Forssell to maneuver through the defense. In the 61st minute Bengt Kielberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Germano Bezerra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Michael Fors showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marco Carvalho in the 67th minute of the match. 69 minutes into the match, Cactos's goal looked a bit too open when Harry Gunnarsson came free, but Germano Bezerra reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lenílson Rodrigues in the 72nd minute of play forced Plan B's goalkeeper Michael Fors to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 73 minutes into the game, Marco Carvalho cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Michael Fors was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Cactos's Germano Bezerra played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bengt-Arne Larsson in the 80th minute of play. The supporters of Cactos booed when Plan B was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Per-Olof Glanselius didn't get a good kick on the ball. Germano Bezerra made a fantastic save in the 92nd minute, when Bengt Kielberg sent off a good shot on target. Cactos walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
