Randers A.F.C.'s goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Jean-Michel Caspar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kristian Ingels, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marcel Mugnier might have been able to make a better finish in the 14th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Niels Willendrup. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Marcel Mugnier ran back to his position shaking his head. After 16 minutes of play, En avant de guingamp's Rodrigue De Castro made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Niels Willendrup was left in no man's land by his defense there! Niels Willendrup showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jean-Charles Desmoulins, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Jean-Charles Desmoulins spun around in front of the goal 20 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Randers A.F.C.'s goal. Rodrigue De Castro got in the 27th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Niels Willendrup handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. Rodrigue De Castro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 66th minute of the match, but Niels Willendrup made a huge save. When Kornelius Lynbek fell near the penalty area in the 69th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Randers A.F.C.'s protests and gave Kornelius Lynbek a yellow card for diving instead. In the 69th match minute, Randers A.F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kornelius Lynbek to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kaj Rubaun in the 72nd minute of play forced En avant de guingamp's goalkeeper Jean-Michel Caspar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
