When the match clock showed 13 minutes, the score became 1-2 when Florent Fernandes sped through Höglunda IK's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Verner Gustavsson. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Francis Attal during the 16th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Francis Attal kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. Höglunda IK's Verner Gustavsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Florent Fernandes in the 23rd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in En avant de guingamp's zone, Staffan Björk stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pierre-Henri Oudard came out of the goal and Staffan Björk tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Florent Fernandes in the 37th minute of play forced Höglunda IK's goalkeeper Verner Gustavsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 43 played minutes Höglunda IK got a freekick which was hit by Melker Abrahamsson. A collision led to Höglunda IK getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Tobias Barck hit a great ball. In the 47thth minute of the game Florent Fernandes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Höglunda IK's Verner Gustavsson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The Höglunda IK players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. En avant de guingamp were winning 1-3.

The wind increased when Jan-Erik Mårtensson made the kick off in the second half. After 56 played minutes En avant de guingamp got a freekick which was hit by Florent Fernandes. 61 minutes into the match, Florent Fernandes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Verner Gustavsson. Höglunda IK's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Florent Fernandes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-4. Mathias Guionnet kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. Höglunda IK's Olof Engström got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Höglunda IK booed when En avant de guingamp was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jean-Sébastien Manin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Djimmy Beaufort sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Verner Gustavsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jean-Charles Desmoulins, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. Jean-Charles Desmoulins fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Verner Gustavsson having to interfere. Verner Gustavsson was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Djimmy Beaufort showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-5 in the 88 minute of play. In the 91st minute, Mathias Guionnet hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 95thth minute of the game Florent Fernandes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Höglunda IK's Verner Gustavsson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. En avant de guingamp's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
