But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Francisc Ionete couldn't finish the play. After some careless play in the Rafaela FC defense, Iacob Martinescu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of German Ourente. The Rafaela FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that German Ourente should have stopped the shot. Rafaela FC's German Ourente played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sandu Bâru in the 22nd minute of play. After having played for 28 minutes, Marian Morovan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. BVB 09's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marian Morovan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 30th minute Sandu Bâru shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but German Ourente saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

German Ourente showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sandu Bâru, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. The supporters of BVB 09 booed when Rafaela FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leonides Vito didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Sandu Bâru came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the BVB 09 fans jumped to their feet. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. BVB 09 fully deserved thier win.
