Jeferson Amaral fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iordache Sfârlea having to interfere. When Petre Luican fell near the penalty area in the 9th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Uptown Otters's protests and gave Petre Luican a yellow card for diving instead. Petre Luican hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. Alexsandro Netto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sergiu Ştef in the 13th minute of play. Alexsandro Netto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aristide Crivac, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Sergiu Ştef received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Alexsandro Netto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. During the 22nd minute of the match Petre Luican completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Petre Luican a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The supporters of Samurai Champions FC booed when Uptown Otters was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Petre Luican didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Samurai Champions FC's zone, Ştefan Ciuvică stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alexsandro Netto came out of the goal and Ştefan Ciuvică tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 32 minutes into the match, Uptown Otters's goal looked a bit too open when Mané Catarinense came free, but Iordache Sfârlea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aristide Crivac in the 36th minute of play forced Samurai Champions FC's goalkeeper Alexsandro Netto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Severino Siqueira hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. Sergiu Ştef received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Alexsandro Netto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mané Catarinense was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Jeferson Amaral got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Samurai Champions FC's Mauro Silva got a free kick in the 61st minute. In the 62nd minute, Renan Sena hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 65 minutes into the game, Renan Sena was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Samurai Champions FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Uptown Otters the free kick. Renan Sena hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. Nando Custódio's late challenge caught a Uptown Otters's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nando Custódio helped the player get up and apologised. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
