Spectators: 36 (Terracing: 28, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Aurelio Hitz started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. 3 minutes into the game, Roman Kismi cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Remus Greavu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 11 minutes into the match, Aurelio Hitz notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Club Vertigo's Remus Greavu. Remus Greavu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 24 minutes, Arturo Balendin mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the NEWELL´S OLD BOYS and the Club Vertigo players grew even worse after the yellow card. Arturo Balendin kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. Nistor Iftimescu's shot from long distance in the 25th minute was not bad at all, but NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's Danilo Frascuelo knew what was happening and pushed the ball into his arms just before it hit the right post. Ivan Dănilă's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 26thth minute, Danilo Frascuelo skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Remus Greavu came out of the goal in the 28th minute to try and stop a shot by NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's Erasmo Fernendo. But to his dismay, Erasmo Fernendo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aurelio Hitz in the 33rd minute of play forced Club Vertigo's goalkeeper Remus Greavu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 39th minute, Aurelio Hitz left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The NEWELL´S OLD BOYS fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. After having played for 45 minutes, Nistor Iftimescu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Club Vertigo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nistor Iftimescu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After the first half NEWELL´S OLD BOYS were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nistor Iftimescu to make the kick off. In the 54th minute Nistor Iftimescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Danilo Frascuelo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Ivan Dănilă had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 61st minute, Eustacio Hitz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 66th minute of the game. One of NEWELL´S OLD BOYS:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Club Vertigo:s goal. The referee gave Club Vertigo a penalty, 67 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Nistor Iftimescu, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's Danilo Frascuelo. 1-4. Club Vertigo's Remus Greavu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save Club Vertigo from getting a goal against them. Donato Domingues charged in rather forcefully in the 70th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Donato Domingues the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's Donato Domingues got a free kick in the 71st minute. Erasmo Fernendo kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. In the 78th minute Nistor Iftimescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Danilo Frascuelo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 80th minute Erasmo Fernendo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Remus Greavu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nistor Iftimescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Danilo Frascuelo having to interfere. In the 88th minute, NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's Roman Kismi dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-5. Remus Greavu made a fantastic save in the 91st minute, when Aurelio Hitz sent off a good shot on target. Remus Greavu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eustacio Hitz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's Danilo Frascuelo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ivan Dănilă in the 97th minute of play. Chants of NEWELL´S OLD BOYS echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Club Vertigo had held the ball for most of the match.
