The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Jacinto Rodrigues charged in rather forcefully in the 3rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jacinto Rodrigues the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of AIF booed when FC Fura Balizas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jacinto Rodrigues didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jacinto Rodrigues was shown his second yellow card after 9 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Jacinto Rodrigues kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. Tim Billing sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Julião Barcelos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Bengt Felin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 19th minute, Vladimiro Guerreiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Julião Barcelos in the 22nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bengt Felin prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in AIF's zone, Julião Barcelos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bengt Felin came out of the goal and Julião Barcelos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When FC Fura Balizas's Vladimiro Guerreiro in the 25th minute got a chance for a shot 25th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye AIF's goalie prevented a goal. Tobias Paixão took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tim Billing, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Julião Barcelos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. FC Fura Balizas's Tobias Paixão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fabian Kråk in the 31st minute of play. FC Fura Balizas's Tobias Paixão proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 33rd minute of the match, managed to save FC Fura Balizas from getting a goal against them. 42 minutes into the game, FC Fura Balizas's Julião Barcelos nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Bengt Felin made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Fabian Kråk made the kick off in the second half. Tobias Paixão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tim Billing, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Julião Barcelos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 62nd minute, Vladimiro Guerreiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 64th minute, Eduardo Festas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Fabian Kråk had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. FC Fura Balizas's Tobias Paixão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tim Billing in the 69th minute of play. Julião Barcelos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vladimiro Guerreiro hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. In the 87th minute, Julião Barcelos ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Bengt Felin was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. FC Fura Balizas's Jorge Leite was substituted for Vladimiro Guerreiro. Chants of FC Fura Balizas echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as AIF had held the ball for most of the match.
