The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Patric Billock fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ademar Leme having to interfere. 10 minutes into the match, Jardim Botânico's Vladimir Almeida sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Wiktor Kjellbom narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vladimir Almeida in the 11th minute of play forced Real Calle's goalkeeper Wiktor Kjellbom to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mats Hydén kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. Wiktor Kjellbom showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vladimir Almeida in the 29th minute of the match. In the 31st minute Vladimir Almeida shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wiktor Kjellbom saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Charles Sundin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Ademar Leme tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

In the 54th minute, Charles Sundin made a precise shot to the right of Ademar Leme. Jardim Botânico's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. 58 minutes into the game, Vladimir Almeida cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Wiktor Kjellbom was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A hard shot 62 in the game by Serginho Hoffmann from a close distance when the talented Wiktor Kjellbom managed to make a qualified save. Real Calle's players were relieved. In the 68th minute the ball was on its way in behind Real Calle's goalkeeper Wiktor Kjellbom, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ademar Leme made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Charles Sundin in the 72nd minute of play. When the match had gone on for 81 minutes, Emanuel Eckegren put it in 3-1 from a short distance just to the right of Ademar Leme. Emanuel Eckegren recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ademar Leme stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Emanuel Eckegren's shot from short distance in the 93rd minute. When Vladimir Almeida came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Jardim Botânico fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vladimir Almeida couldn't finish the play. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Real Calle had won after a very even match.
