The FC Lutanu fans' excitement grew in the 15th match minute when FC Lutanu's Gavril Burnei looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Gavril Burnei received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Waldir Pontes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 21 minutes into the game, Ionică Rânceanu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Lutanu's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Xandeco FC the free kick. Ionică Rânceanu hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. FC Lutanu's Daniel Ostoici played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Breno Diniz in the 26th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Xandeco FC's zone, Gavril Burnei stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Waldir Pontes came out of the goal and Gavril Burnei tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gavril Burnei fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Waldir Pontes having to interfere. A hard shot 32 in the game by Gavril Burnei from a close distance when the talented Waldir Pontes managed to make a qualified save. Xandeco FC's players were relieved. If Gavril Burnei had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gavril Burnei in the 37th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Waldir Pontes saved Xandeco FC from getting behind. Gavril Burnei fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Waldir Pontes having to interfere. After having played for 48 minutes, Marcu Simion managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Lutanu's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marcu Simion was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

In the 56thth minute of the game Gavril Burnei who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Xandeco FC's Waldir Pontes was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the match had gone on for 57 minutes, Gavril Burnei put it in 2-1 from a short distance just to the right of Waldir Pontes. In the 60th minute, Gavril Burnei got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Virgílio Teixeira's late challenge caught a FC Lutanu's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Virgílio Teixeira helped the player get up and apologised. In the 63rd match minute, Xandeco FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Virgílio Teixeira to maneuver through the defense. If Breno Diniz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 67 minutes into the match, FC Lutanu's Gavril Burnei sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Waldir Pontes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 96th minute, Marcu Simion hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
