The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Clemente Louis stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Deivid Moreira's shot from short distance in the 5th minute. 7 minutes into the match, Guillermo Bortzaioriz notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ's Cacá Sousa. Cacá Sousa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Clemente Louis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Humberto Botelho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Clemente Louis came out of the goal in the 11th minute to try and stop a shot by Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ's Adhemar Pinho. But to his dismay, Adhemar Pinho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. 15 minutes into the game, Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ's Nilton Bittencourt nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Clemente Louis made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. After having played for 17 minutes, Humberto Botelho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ's supporters crossed their fingers, but Humberto Botelho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cacá Sousa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julio Michael in the 21st minute of play. Nilton Bittencourt could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Clemente Louis made a huge save. 33 minutes into the match, Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Guillermo Bortzaioriz came free, but Cacá Sousa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. André Vides hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Quebrachitos FC's Clemente Louis got control of the ball when Deivid Moreira tried to sneak it across the goal line. Adhemar Pinho hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. Cacá Sousa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Guillermo Bortzaioriz, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ's Cacá Sousa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ignacio Rico in the 44th minute of play. After 46 minutes, Lino Freire mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ and the Quebrachitos FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 46th minute, Lino Freire hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Deivid Moreira made a kick off. Lino Freire was shown his second yellow card after 51 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. The supporters of Quebrachitos FC booed when Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lino Freire didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cacá Sousa acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 52nd minute, took the ball on the long shot from Godfredo Artal. After 58 minutes, Nilton Bittencourt mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ and the Quebrachitos FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The audience thought a goal was coming when Guillermo Bortzaioriz got free with Cacá Sousa in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ's Adhemar Pinho got a free kick in the 60th minute. Cacá Sousa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabricio Atarratze in the 61st minute of play. Guillermo Bortzaioriz's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Cacá Sousa firmly grabbed it by the left post. Cacá Sousa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ignacio Rico, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cacá Sousa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Guillermo Bortzaioriz in the 76th minute of the match. Marcel Meireles hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. Guillermo Bortzaioriz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Bernabe Herauso's late challenge caught a Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bernabe Herauso helped the player get up and apologised. In the 80th minute, Bernabe Herauso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 83 minutes into the game, Humberto Botelho was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Quebrachitos FC the free kick. Humberto Botelho hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
