Cacá Sousa came out of the goal and Kåre Nordal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cacá Sousa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bengt-Rune Wassenius in the 18th minute of the match. 23 minutes into the game, Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ's Deivid Moreira nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Daniel Håkansson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. If Deivid Moreira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cacá Sousa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bengt-Rune Wassenius, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Bengt-Rune Wassenius managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Copiad's supporters rose to their feet, but Bengt-Rune Wassenius was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cacá Sousa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Daniel Håkansson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Deivid Moreira in the 35th minute of the match. Humberto Botelho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Daniel Håkansson having to interfere. Daniel Håkansson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adhemar Pinho, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Daniel Håkansson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lucas Neiva in the 39th minute of play. 41 minutes into the match, Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ's goalkeeper Cacá Sousa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Kåre Nordal. André Vides charged in rather forcefully in the 42nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed André Vides the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of FC Copiad booed when Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. André Vides didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bengt-Rune Wassenius was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 44th minute. FC Copiad's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Adhemar Pinho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ's supporters rose to their feet, but Adhemar Pinho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Daniel Håkansson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, FC Copiad's Edvin Strömqvist got a free kick in the 47th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
