The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Calistrat Şerbănescu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 3rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Neymar Santos got free with Vlad Covrig in the 5th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Damian Cârlan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dida Silva having to interfere. Mathias Donato hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. Tiberiu Rotariu kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. The supporters of PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca booed when Pindorama was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fabrício Arce didn't get a good kick on the ball. 20 minutes into the match, Pindorama's goal looked a bit too open when Sebastian Istodor came free, but Dida Silva reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Aírton Montenegro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Petruț Crivac fell near the penalty area in the 23rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's protests and gave Petruț Crivac a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Pindorama booed when PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Petruț Crivac didn't get a good kick on the ball. Calistrat Şerbănescu took the ball and in the 26 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dida Silva. Dida Silva dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fabrício Arce during the 32nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 32 played minutes Pindorama got a freekick which was hit by Fabrício Arce. Dida Silva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Calistrat Şerbănescu in the 33rd minute of play. In the 35thth minute of the game Calistrat Şerbănescu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Pindorama's Dida Silva was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A collision led to Pindorama getting a freekick after 48 minutes play. Fabrício Arce hit a great ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Vlad Covrig made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aírton Montenegro in the 55th minute of play. Dida Silva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sebastian Istodor in the 56th minute of play. Dida Silva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Damian Cârlan in the 63rd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Calistrat Şerbănescu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Dida Silva stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Calistrat Şerbănescu's shot from short distance in the 69th minute. After 77 minutes, Aírton Montenegro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pindorama and the PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Pindorama's Aírton Montenegro got a free kick in the 77th minute. In the 85th minute Aírton Correia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vlad Covrig saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Pindorama getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Emílio Trevisan hit a great ball. Damian Cârlan was extremely unlucky when he, in the 92nd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. After 95 minutes, Calistrat Şerbănescu made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Pindorama's Dida Silva tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. When the final whistle sounded PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Pindorama.
