The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th match minute, Mans was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Simon Tripier to maneuver through the defense. Corrado Giacchetti charged in rather forcefully in the 6th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Corrado Giacchetti the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Corrado Giacchetti hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. Victorien Espitalier didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dennis Gentili went, in the 9th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. In the 14th minute, Amedeo Gizzi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 16th match minute, Mans was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bernard Thil to maneuver through the defense. Mans's Victorien Espitalier proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save Mans from getting a goal against them. 23 minutes into the game, Emiliano Rondinelli lined in a short shot 2-0 behind a frustrated Victorien Espitalier. Victorien Espitalier made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Emiliano Rondinelli sent off a good shot on target. Emiliano Rondinelli had several of the Mans's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 34 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 3-0 score and a disappointed Victorien Espitalier as he didn't even see the shot coming. Attilio Liaci hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. In the 43rd minute Romuald Revert shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Biagio Crema saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. AC Morena's Dino Villani shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 46th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Victorien Espitalier but with some difficulty. Victorien Espitalier made an important save on a dangerous shot by Emiliano Rondinelli in the 47th minute.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Emiliano Rondinelli made a kick off. When AC Morena's Emiliano Rondinelli in the 57th minute got a chance for a shot 57th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. AC Morena were furious when Amedeo Gizzi was red carded, 65 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. The supporters of Mans booed when AC Morena was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amedeo Gizzi didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, AC Morena's Biagio Crema got control of the ball when Bérenger Bauche tried to sneak it across the goal line. Victorien Espitalier showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dave Capuozzi in the 69th minute of the match. AC Morena's Dino Villani got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 76 minutes, Dennis Gentili made it 4-0 with a short kick to the right side. Mans's Victorien Espitalier tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 79th minute, Dennis Gentili left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The AC Morena fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-0. After 83 minutes of play, AC Morena's Attilio Burgnich made it 6-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Victorien Espitalier was left in no man's land by his defense there! Victorien Espitalier showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dennis Gentili in the 90th minute of the match. In the 92nd minute, Simon Tripier hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Attilio Burgnich's late challenge caught a Mans's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Attilio Burgnich helped the player get up and apologised. After 93 played minutes AC Morena got a freekick which was hit by Attilio Burgnich. A collision led to Mans getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Bernard Thil hit a great ball. If Attilio Burgnich had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
