The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Agne Joensson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedro Paulo Furlan in the 3rd minute of play. 8 minutes into the game, Brasilino's Wágner Chaves nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Agne Joensson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Kurt Söderström's late challenge caught a Brasilino's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kurt Söderström helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Brasilino booed when Öjeby IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kurt Söderström didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Öjeby IF's Mattias Pedersson slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Humberto Xavier. That made the score 1-1 after 14 minutes of play. Humberto Xavier made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mattias Pedersson in the 18th minute of play. In the 21st minute of the match, Mattias Pedersson got a very nice opportunity to score, but Humberto Xavier was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. A collision led to Brasilino getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Frank Senna hit a great ball. Kurt Söderström scored 2-1 in the 24th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Humberto Xavier, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Pedro Luís Coutinho was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 27 minutes into the match. Pedro Luís Coutinho hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. If Marko Jönsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 33rd match minute, Brasilino was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hílton da Silveira to maneuver through the defense. 44 minutes into the game, Kurt Söderström recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Humberto Xavier. Kurt Söderström showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Pedro Paulo Furlan made a kick off. After some careless play in the Brasilino defense, Kurt Söderström kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Humberto Xavier. The Brasilino fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Humberto Xavier should have stopped the shot. When Kurt Björkman came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Öjeby IF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kurt Björkman couldn't finish the play. Öjeby IF's Agne Joensson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 60th minute of the match, managed to save Öjeby IF from getting a goal against them. Agne Joensson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Pedro Paulo Furlan in the 62nd minute. Humberto Xavier didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Kurt Söderström went, in the 64th minute, to the upper right corner, 5-1 was the resulting score. 69 minutes into the match, Claudinei Leal notched a goal, 5-2, to the right of Öjeby IF's Agne Joensson. Agne Joensson was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Humberto Xavier showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kurt Söderström, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. After a rather tough play, Öjeby IF's Mattias Pedersson got a free kick in the 78th minute. In the 85th minute, Kurt Söderström made a precise shot to the right of Humberto Xavier. Brasilino's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 6-2. Frank Senna sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Öjeby IF had played much better football throughout.
