When the match had gone on for 23 minutes, Nikos Moustos took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Octavio Raymond to make any attempt to save it. In the 27th match minute, Go Ahead Eagles was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Periklis Vakalis to maneuver through the defense. After 28 played minutes, Unidad de Matanza's Uriel Perico shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Manos Papaiakovou came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Unidad de Matanza reached it. Octavio Raymond showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nikos Moustos in the 30th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alkinoos Zisimopoulos got free with Octavio Raymond in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Octavio Raymond was a little too slow when Alkinoos Zisimopoulos got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 39th minute. The score was now 2-0. After 45 played minutes, Unidad de Matanza's Uriel Perico shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Manos Papaiakovou came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Unidad de Matanza reached it. Baldomero Gustau hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Takis Chatzivrettas was the one to do the kick off. 50 minutes into the game, Manos Christodoulou was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Go Ahead Eagles's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Unidad de Matanza the free kick. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gerasimos Kallitsis during the 57th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Manos Papaiakovou showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Isidro Lidon, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Manos Papaiakovou made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leon Pero in the 63rd minute of play. Ntinos Vounatsos kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. After 65 played minutes, Unidad de Matanza's Uriel Perico shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Manos Papaiakovou came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Unidad de Matanza reached it. Octavio Raymond took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nikos Moustos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Manos Papaiakovou was out of position in the 82 minute of play, and Isidro Lidon capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Isidro Lidon really showed his touch with that goal: 2-1. In the 88th minute, Unidad de Matanza's Melchor Montes ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Manos Papaiakovou. Manos Papaiakovou yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-2. Octavio Raymond didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Manos Christodoulou went, in the 92nd minute, to the upper right corner, 3-2 was the resulting score. Octavio Raymond took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Manos Christodoulou, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Unidad de Matanza's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
