Joey Techer scored 1-1 in the 13th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Simon Slater, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ashley Hamilton shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. Hugues Brunel kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. If Thierry Fouassier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a rather tough play, Leicester Lions's Warren Hardcastle got a free kick in the 28th minute. Le Stade Briochin UC's Jérémy Coutier played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Allan Bramble in the 32nd minute of play. Jérémy Coutier showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nathan Leyburn, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. In the 35th match minute, Leicester Lions was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Beinn Medley to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bastien Tournay in the 38th minute of play forced Leicester Lions's goalkeeper Simon Slater to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ashley Hamilton's late challenge caught a Le Stade Briochin UC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joey Techer couldn't finish the play. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Bernard Grancher made a kick off.
