In the 3rdth minute of the game Rogelio Madeo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Fire Devils's Vladimir Schnyder was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A collision led to Fire Devils getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Daniel Winkel hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Daniel Winkel in the 9th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Enrique Urtsin prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Daniel Winkel in the 11th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Enrique Urtsin saved Vélez Juniors from getting behind. Vladimir Schnyder showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rogelio Madeo, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. With a little luck, Fire Devils's Vladimir Schnyder got control of the ball when Damaso Playo tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Damaso Playo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Damaso Playo got free with Vladimir Schnyder in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 33rd minute Daniel Winkel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Enrique Urtsin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Winkel in the 36th minute of play forced Vélez Juniors's goalkeeper Enrique Urtsin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rogelio Madeo in the 40th minute of play forced Fire Devils's goalkeeper Vladimir Schnyder to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vélez Juniors's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Fire Devils the free kick. The supporters of Fire Devils booed when Vélez Juniors was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sergio Gai didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vélez Juniors's Enrique Urtsin proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 57th minute of the match, managed to save Vélez Juniors from getting a goal against them. Kleopas Boller got his second yellow card in the match during the 60th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Vladimir Schnyder stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rogelio Madeo's shot from short distance in the 64th minute. In the 68th minute, Fidel Pietro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Leonard Schnyder charged in rather forcefully in the 69th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Leonard Schnyder the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Rogelio Madeo scored 1-0 in the 71st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Vladimir Schnyder, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.
