Mean Machine's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave F.C CLUJ MEDICINA the free kick. The supporters of F.C CLUJ MEDICINA booed when Mean Machine was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Esbjörn Drake didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 26 minutes, Kåre Malmgren mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mean Machine and the F.C CLUJ MEDICINA players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of F.C CLUJ MEDICINA booed when Mean Machine was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kåre Malmgren didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kåre Malmgren was shown his second yellow card after 30 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Kåre Malmgren hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. 32 minutes into the game, Nechifor Ciurea cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Viggo Vallin was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sven-Ove Dahlgren during the 44th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Mean Machine's Sven-Ove Dahlgren got a free kick in the 44th minute. F.C CLUJ MEDICINA's Mihail Onaca played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sonny Rosén in the 46th minute of play.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nechifor Ciurea stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Mean Machine getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Hubert Nordmark hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in F.C CLUJ MEDICINA's zone, Sonny Rosén stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mihail Onaca came out of the goal and Sonny Rosén tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mihail Onaca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tommy Hedlund in the 59th minute of play. Iacob Irimescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Viggo Vallin having to interfere. In the 68th minute Tommy Hedlund shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mihail Onaca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Viggo Vallin was a little too slow when Costică Darabonț got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 74th minute. The score was now 0-3. In the 77thth minute of the game Tommy Hedlund who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but F.C CLUJ MEDICINA's Mihail Onaca was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Karl-Johan Rudberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 85th minute, Iacob Irimescu left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The F.C CLUJ MEDICINA fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. Grigore Greblă kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. If Douglas Västerstrand had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mihail Onaca showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tommy Hedlund, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. In the 97th minute, Karl-Johan Rudberg made a precise shot to the right of Mihail Onaca. F.C CLUJ MEDICINA's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-4. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. F.C CLUJ MEDICINA had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
