The referee ignored Феникс Санкт-Петербург's protests and gave Askold Vladimirov a yellow card for diving instead. In the 29th minute, Askold Vladimirov hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Irakliy Dorenskiy took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Haroldo Suarez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Abuba Akotonon FC getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Humberto Valerio hit a great ball. In the 33rd match minute, Феникс Санкт-Петербург was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Timur Markov to maneuver through the defense. In the 34th minute, Milton Giménez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Феникс Санкт-Петербург's defense didn't have a chance, in the 36th minute, when Haroldo Suarez scored to the left of an out of position Irakliy Dorenskiy, making the score, 4-0. Askold Vladimirov got his second yellow card in the match during the 38th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 48th minute, Abuba Akotonon FC's Fausto Abarca ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Irakliy Dorenskiy. Irakliy Dorenskiy yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 5-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 5-0 at half-time.

Maximiliano Peruanton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Abuba Akotonon FC booed when Феникс Санкт-Петербург was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ilya Mikhailov didn't get a good kick on the ball. Irakliy Dorenskiy made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Milton Giménez in the 82nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Haroldo Suarez in the 87th minute of play forced Феникс Санкт-Петербург's goalkeeper Irakliy Dorenskiy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 88th match minute, Феникс Санкт-Петербург was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juan Izquierdo to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Феникс Санкт-Петербург's zone, Fulgencio Shepherd stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Irakliy Dorenskiy came out of the goal and Fulgencio Shepherd tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Abuba Akotonon FC had won after a very even match.
