The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Renatinho Braga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Renatinho Braga came up free with the goalie in the 4th minute, the Desportiva Paulo Afonso fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Renatinho Braga couldn't finish the play. Olavo Vasconcelos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cassiano Castanheira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 9 minutes into the match, Cassiano Castanheira had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Olavo Vasconcelos. Desportiva Paulo Afonso's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cassiano Castanheira was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. If Renatinho Braga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 16th minute, Romão Furtado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Isidoro Vilarinho's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 20thth minute, Olavo Vasconcelos skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After 21 minutes, Américo Aguiar mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Chihuahua StrikerS™ and the Desportiva Paulo Afonso players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Desportiva Paulo Afonso booed when Chihuahua StrikerS™ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Américo Aguiar didn't get a good kick on the ball. Chihuahua StrikerS™'s Júlio Lemos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Francisco Garcia in the 22nd minute of play. Romão Furtado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Olavo Vasconcelos having to interfere. A hard shot 27 in the game by Alex Santiago from a close distance when the talented Olavo Vasconcelos managed to make a qualified save. Desportiva Paulo Afonso's players were relieved. Through an outstanding action, after 34 minutes, Olavo Vasconcelos successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Francisco Garcia might have been able to make a better finish in the 35th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Júlio Lemos. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Francisco Garcia ran back to his position shaking his head. Américo Aguiar hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Olavo Vasconcelos made a fantastic save in the 41st minute, when Alex Santiago sent off a good shot on target. In the 46th match minute, Chihuahua StrikerS™ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Romão Furtado to maneuver through the defense. Júlio Lemos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Francisco Garcia, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Cassiano Castanheira to strike the kick off in the second half. Renatinho Braga recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Romão Furtado managed to get in a good position for a shot. Chihuahua StrikerS™'s supporters rose to their feet, but Romão Furtado was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. When the match clock showed 93 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Lúcio Eanes sped through Desportiva Paulo Afonso's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Olavo Vasconcelos. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Isidoro Vilarinho in the 96th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Olavo Vasconcelos saved Desportiva Paulo Afonso from getting behind. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Chihuahua StrikerS™ had played much better football throughout.
