The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marcel Viana couldn't finish the play. When Delfim Maia fell near the penalty area in the 13th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored ADM Taquaras's protests and gave Delfim Maia a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to ADM Taquaras getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Delfim Maia hit a great ball. In the 20thth minute of the game Dorival Fontes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Socavon FC's Justino Lujan was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Marcel Viana received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Justino Lujan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dorival Fontes might have been able to make a better finish in the 27th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Justino Lujan. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dorival Fontes ran back to his position shaking his head. ADM Taquaras's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Zé Madureira in the 29th minute. The supporters of ADM Taquaras booed when Socavon FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Diagur Mellado didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rubinho Abreu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rencio Bergada, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Iturri Soldevilla stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Dominguez Mayen's late challenge caught a ADM Taquaras's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dominguez Mayen helped the player get up and apologised. 70 minutes into the match, ADM Taquaras's goal looked a bit too open when Rencio Bergada came free, but Rubinho Abreu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
