Florian Diederich hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rafal Zawada in the 32nd minute of play forced FC Lugano's goalkeeper Max Sevier to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Guido Emennegger charged in rather forcefully in the 34th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. But to his dismay, Odysseus De Souza quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tiziano Gamache to strike the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, MZ Wodzisław Śląski's Jan Solarek got control of the ball when Odysseus De Souza tried to sneak it across the goal line. MZ Wodzisław Śląski's Jan Solarek played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tiziano Gamache in the 55th minute of play. If Tiziano Gamache had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. FC Lugano's Fidelio Haller was substituted for Fedor Adler. 60 minutes into the game, Hugon Brzeszczak was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Odysseus De Souza's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jan Solarek read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 96th minute of play.
