A collision led to Arrows Academy FC getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Des Ealham hit a great ball. In the 30th minute, Arrows Academy FC's Des Ealham seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Des Ealham the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Arrows Academy FC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Des Ealham had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee gave Fc Schönhagen a penalty, 31 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Ekkehard Clemens, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Arrows Academy FC's Rex Marler. 1-1. The supporters of Arrows Academy FC booed when Fc Schönhagen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mike Iggelheimer didn't get a good kick on the ball. 36 minutes into the match, Arrows Academy FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ronnie Hitzing came free, but Rex Marler reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Erich Tuters stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Fc Schönhagen getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Mike Iggelheimer hit a great ball. If Jim Ackroyd had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marc Tyler hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. When Thorsten Michalsky fell near the penalty area in the 81st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Fc Schönhagen's protests and gave Thorsten Michalsky a yellow card for diving instead. Thorsten Michalsky fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rex Marler having to interfere.
