A collision led to Squadra Demarchi getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Nelson Vidal hit a great ball. Richard Moura hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Squadra Demarchi's Kléber Queirós got a free kick in the 13th minute. Olympique Fribourg's Chris Lang played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rafael da Rocha in the 15th minute of play. Kléber Queirós could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 18th minute of the match, but Chris Lang made a huge save. In the 18th minute, Vincenzo Veterini hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Oscar Saldanha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Blaise Näf, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Chris Lang made a fantastic save in the 29th minute, when Kléber Queirós sent off a good shot on target. Oscar Saldanha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Karsten Eggers in the 30th minute of play. Luis Nietlispach got a throw-in 34 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Blaise Näf. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

In the 51st match minute, Olympique Fribourg was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Karsten Eggers to maneuver through the defense. Chris Lang showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sílvio Alagoano in the 54th minute of the match. Squadra Demarchi's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Claudinho Loyola in the 55th minute. The corner ended in Claudinho Loyola almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Olympique Fribourg's Chris Lang did a great save. Richard Moura kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. Josef Gladu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Blaise Näf got free with Oscar Saldanha in the 67th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Rafael da Rocha hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. A collision led to Squadra Demarchi getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Sílvio Alagoano hit a great ball. Blaise Näf struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Oscar Saldanha didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Olympique Fribourg. Benny Kaelin made in the 93rd minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Blaise Näf however managed to control. An unexpectedly hard shot by Karsten Eggers in the 95th minute of play forced Squadra Demarchi's goalkeeper Oscar Saldanha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
