Jeronimo Abella came out of the goal in the 6th minute to try and stop a shot by Aves Negras's Fausto Berenguer. But to his dismay, Fausto Berenguer quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. In the 11th minute Osvaldo Quexal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jeronimo Abella saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lucio Socorro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jeronimo Abella showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Osvaldo Quexal in the 20th minute of the match. After 21 minutes, Roberto Michael mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Aves Negras and the INDEPENDIENTE F.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. Lucio Socorro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jeronimo Abella read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 45th minute of play.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Martin Erramu to strike the kick off in the second half. When Lucio Socorro fell near the penalty area in the 91st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Aves Negras's protests and gave Lucio Socorro a yellow card for diving instead. In the 91st match minute, Aves Negras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lucio Socorro to maneuver through the defense. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
