After a rather tough play, AFK Petržalka's Bohdan Jedlík got a free kick in the 32nd minute. After a defensive mix-up in AFK Petržalka's zone, Jim Belloir stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ivan Adamčík came out of the goal and Jim Belloir tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Rathmore Lime Tree getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Hervé Annette hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, AFK Petržalka's Pavol Kaščák got a free kick in the 36th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adil Magaud in the 39th minute of play forced AFK Petržalka's goalkeeper Ivan Adamčík to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Adil Magaud received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Ivan Adamčík tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jim Belloir during the 45th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

In the 75th minute, Tibor Kavecký hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 79th minute, Tibor Barmoš made a precise shot to the right of Sofyane Valognes. Rathmore Lime Tree's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. After having played for 95 minutes, Tibor Barmoš managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AFK Petržalka's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tibor Barmoš was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
