Eliseu Azevedo kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. In the 6th minute Gaudencio Medero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Guga Neves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aaron Bernad showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gildo de Carvalho, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. After some careless play in the Nova Venécia-ES defense, Haroldo Elija kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Guga Neves. The Nova Venécia-ES fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Guga Neves should have stopped the shot. Nova Venécia-ES were furious when Eliseu Azevedo was red carded, 18 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 18th minute, Eliseu Azevedo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Nova Venécia-ES's zone, Jacobo Cristofol stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Guga Neves came out of the goal and Jacobo Cristofol tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 21 played minutes Nova Venécia-ES got a freekick which was hit by Wilton Paes. After 27 minutes, Gildo de Carvalho mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Nova Venécia-ES and the Sacro Balompié players grew even worse after the yellow card. Gildo de Carvalho kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. 34 minutes into the game, Rafinha Goiano was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Nova Venécia-ES's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sacro Balompié the free kick. After 34 played minutes Nova Venécia-ES got a freekick which was hit by Rafinha Goiano. In the 35th minute, Cesar Lauro made a precise shot to the right of Guga Neves. Nova Venécia-ES's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Thanks to some nice moves Ademir Varela could shoot a difficult shot in the 44th minute, which Aaron Bernad however easily saved by the left post.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Hugo de Queiroz stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Nova Venécia-ES booed when Sacro Balompié was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jacobo Cristofol didn't get a good kick on the ball. Aaron Bernad showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ademir Varela in the 61st minute of the match. Godfredo Viviano hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Sacro Balompié made a substitution. Felipe Steven replaced Haroldo Elija. After recieving a nice pass, Nova Venécia-ES's Luís Guilherme de Mendonça tried to score from far away in the 73rd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. After 75 played minutes Nova Venécia-ES got a freekick which was hit by Gildo de Carvalho. With a little luck, Nova Venécia-ES's Guga Neves got control of the ball when Cesar Lauro tried to sneak it across the goal line. Nova Venécia-ES's Guga Neves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pastor Nabar in the 81st minute of play. Aaron Bernad took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ademir Varela, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 87 minutes, Maximiliano Chepe mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sacro Balompié and the Nova Venécia-ES players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 86 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Sacro Balompié! In the 88th minute there was a penalty for Nova Venécia-ES. Luís Guilherme de Mendonça stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Aaron Bernad. 1-2. Sacro Balompié's Maximiliano Chepe got his second yellow card of the match in the 96th minute. The referee ordered Maximiliano Chepe off the ground. Maximiliano Chepe hit a great freekick 97 minutes into the match. Sacro Balompié's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
