The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gillermo Serrano in the 5th minute of play forced Nova Venécia-ES's goalkeeper Arnaldo Nascimento to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 5th minute, Gildo de Carvalho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 7th match minute, Nova Venécia-ES was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wilton Paes to maneuver through the defense. In the 8th minute of the match Jacobo Pan sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Arnaldo Nascimento skillfully saved the ball. 10 minutes into the match, Gillermo Serrano notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Nova Venécia-ES's Arnaldo Nascimento. Arnaldo Nascimento was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Boniel Tama received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Gildo de Carvalho kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. Arnaldo Nascimento made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gillermo Serrano in the 24th minute of play. The supporters of Halcon Sport 69 booed when Nova Venécia-ES was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Guga Neves didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 29 minutes of play, Nova Venécia-ES's Luís Guilherme de Mendonça made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Tabby Leceta was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Halcon Sport 69's Ofelio Borizar in the 34th minute got a chance for a shot 34th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Nova Venécia-ES's goalie prevented a goal. Giovani Ramos took the ball and in the 36 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tabby Leceta. Tabby Leceta dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. 46 minutes into the match, Halcon Sport 69's goalkeeper Tabby Leceta had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Giovani Ramos. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The wind increased when Gillermo Serrano made the kick off in the second half. In the 51st match minute, Halcon Sport 69 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ofelio Borizar to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Halcon Sport 69's Chorache Boreyta got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Luís Guilherme de Mendonça sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 59 minutes, Gillermo Serrano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tabby Leceta made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. The crowd rose to their feet as Halcon Sport 69's Gillermo Serrano slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Arnaldo Nascimento. That made the score 3-2 after 89 minutes of play. Nova Venécia-ES's Arnaldo Nascimento proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 92nd minute of the match, managed to save Nova Venécia-ES from getting a goal against them. Nova Venécia-ES's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
