Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Giuliano David made the kick off which started today's match. The crowd rose to their feet as Sydney FC's Pierre Möhn slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Pedrinho Mesquita. That made the score 1-0 after 6 minutes of play. In the 8th minute, Wilton Berger made a precise shot to the right of Florian Guderian. Sydney FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Florian Guderian showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Giuliano David, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. Florian Guderian took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Santiago Cabezudo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 21 minutes into the match, Villaverde Celeste Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Jaden Krieglmeier came free, but Pedrinho Mesquita reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sydney FC's Florian Guderian played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Giuliano David in the 29th minute of play. Jaden Krieglmeier recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Florian Guderian didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ismael Tasso went, in the 41st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. Sydney FC's Kees Plappert was substituted for Jaden Krieglmeier. After the first half Villaverde Celeste Clube were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Kees Plappert made a kick off. After some careless play in the Sydney FC defense, Giuliano David kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Florian Guderian. The Sydney FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Florian Guderian should have stopped the shot. Wilton Berger received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Florian Guderian tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 60 played minutes Villaverde Celeste Clube got a freekick which was hit by Waldemar Lucas. In the 63rd minute, Santiago Cabezudo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Florian Guderian came out of the goal in the 65th minute to try and stop a shot by Villaverde Celeste Clube's Gonçalo Maciel. But to his dismay, Gonçalo Maciel quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-4. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Wilton Berger managed to get in a good position for a shot. Villaverde Celeste Clube's supporters rose to their feet, but Wilton Berger was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Florian Guderian breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 76 minutes into the match, Sydney FC's goalkeeper Florian Guderian had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luiz Fernando Leme. Sydney FC's Kees Plappert got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Sydney FC's Florian Guderian proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 93rd minute of the match, managed to save Sydney FC from getting a goal against them. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Sydney FC lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
