An unexpectedly hard shot by Nuno Candeias in the 5th minute of play forced ★Independiente Ψ★'s goalkeeper Lorenzo Gentza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fabrício Gonçalves scored 1-0 in the 11th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lorenzo Gentza, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Honorato Taurino hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. The supporters of ★Independiente Ψ★ booed when MEXACOMX was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hélio Granja didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nuno Candeias could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but Lorenzo Gentza made a huge save. MEXACOMX's Dimas Camargo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Donato Gorbea in the 20th minute of play. Dimas Camargo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Donato Gorbea's shot from short distance in the 24th minute. After 25 played minutes ★Independiente Ψ★ got a freekick which was hit by Alfonso Bernabel. 28 minutes into the match, ★Independiente Ψ★'s goalkeeper Lorenzo Gentza had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nuno Candeias. MEXACOMX's Alfredo Osório got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 38th minute, Mariano Faria hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Honorato Taurino's late challenge caught a MEXACOMX's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Honorato Taurino helped the player get up and apologised. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Hélio Granja to make the kick off. Lorenzo Gentza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nuno Candeias in the 52nd minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Donato Gorbea in the 53rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dimas Camargo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the match had gone on for 56 minutes, Donato Gorbea put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Dimas Camargo. Donato Gorbea had several of the MEXACOMX's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 72 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-3 score and a disappointed Dimas Camargo as he didn't even see the shot coming. In the 76th minute, Hermenegildo Lousada hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 77thth minute of the game Donato Gorbea who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but MEXACOMX's Dimas Camargo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the match clock showed 83 minutes, the score became 1-4 when Donato Gorbea sped through MEXACOMX's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Dimas Camargo. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched ★Independiente Ψ★ eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
