In the 12th minute, Rudolf Ekeroth got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 17 minutes into the match, Zlatan BK's goal looked a bit too open when Nils-Erik Brogren came free, but Kjell Grönberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 18th match minute, AIK FOTBOLL was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Andreas Colin to maneuver through the defense. 25 minutes into the match, Ludvig Wik dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Ivar Rolfsson, 2-0. AIK FOTBOLL's Aleksander Stålman pulled a muscle in his back after 29 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Folke Hellbom charged in rather forcefully in the 29th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Folke Hellbom the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. AIK FOTBOLL's Josef Ålberg was substituted for Aleksander Stålman. The supporters of AIK FOTBOLL booed when Zlatan BK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Folke Hellbom didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 33rd minute Stefan Mårtensson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kjell Grönberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ivar Rolfsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ludvig Wik in the 35th minute of the match. Patric Persson lost his temper 36 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. The supporters of Zlatan BK booed when AIK FOTBOLL was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stefan Frisck didn't get a good kick on the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rudolf Ekeroth to make the kick off. Zlatan BK's Kjell Grönberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stefan Mårtensson in the 61st minute of play. In the 67th minute, Folke Hellbom hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kjell Grönberg made an important save on a dangerous shot by Urban Stenström in the 69th minute. Kjell Grönberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nils-Erik Brogren in the 73rd minute of the match. Per-Åke Nordstedt took the ball and in the 74 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ivar Rolfsson. Ivar Rolfsson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. After a rather tough play, Zlatan BK's Ludvig Wik got a free kick in the 88th minute. In the 89th minute Stefan Frisck shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kjell Grönberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 90 minutes into the game, Stefan Mårtensson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. AIK FOTBOLL's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Zlatan BK the free kick. After 90 played minutes AIK FOTBOLL got a freekick which was hit by Stefan Mårtensson. AIK FOTBOLL's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
