When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Wágner Brodel made a kick off. Pedro Luiz da Cunha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ivo Fantini, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 54th minute, Palestra do Interior's Serafim Simão dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-2. If Dorival Almeida had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Serafim Simão who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 59thth minute tested the skills of Pedro Luiz da Cunha when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the last second Pedro Luiz da Cunha throw himself and got hold of the ball when William Luz in the 67thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. Serafim Simão struck a weak shot in the 74th minute. Pedro Luiz da Cunha didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal.
